Convergence: Elena and Meg's True Story of Love, Survival and Liberation

Convergence is finished. I am posting the final draft in one chapter increments -- one new chapter a day, until all 45 chapters are online.

Proviso: As long as I have time. We will post an entry in the blog about this, but we have -- yet again -- run out of time on land. I am trying my damnedest to get the rest of Convergence online or published by the time we have to go in search of another patch of dirt we can land upon together.

Elena has finished her second book, Parallel, the sequel to Talking to the Moon. Both of her books are currently in her native tongue, Russian -- except for passages we have translated into English for inclusion in Convergence, and on this website. As time allows, we ARE translating Parallel into English and posting it on The astute reader will have noticed that "Convergence" and "Parallel" are somewhat relative terms -- geometrically speaking -- and indeed, are quite correct in surmising that Parallel is also a sequel to Convergence.

Quotation Mark

People tell me how courageous it was of me to take this trip, but in reality it was the most natural thing I have ever done. What costs you way more, what destroys you is not the fight, but doing nothing, not changing your life, living it the way somebody else wants you to live, fulfilling their dreams, not yours.

Quotation Mark

Would I do it again? In a heartbeat! Do I have any regrets? Not one. Eleven years ago, at the train station in Kiev, I watched an amazing young woman take back her life! She changed the universe that day. By running with her, by holding on tight and never giving up, I took back my own life. Nothing will ever be the same again.

This book is memoir. It reflects the author’s present recollections of experiences over time. Some names and characteristics have been changed, some events have been compressed, and some dialogue has been recreated.

This means things can, and will very likely, change. If you are reading Convergence on anything other than, you are reading stolen and out of date material.
